Do you mean from the beach Craig or from a boat? Plenty of people seem to fish off Marine Drive, between the North and South bays. Don't recal seeing anyone fishing off the actual beach, but it's usually full of holidaymakers when I'm there. I've been out on a couple of short boat trips and caught a few codling and a scorpion fish, but they do longer trips too, up to six/eight hours if I remember correctly. If it's a boat trip you're after your best bet is to go to the slipway that the speedboats go from - there's a couple of booths there where the skippers advertise and take bookings. (At least there are in high season). It might be worth your while do try an internet search and speak to a skipper or two before you go. craigmason 15-09-2007, 07:39 from the harbour wall halibut but i might try a boat trip depends on how much they cost and what the weather is like Halibut 15-09-2007, 07:39 Here you go - this guy runs a boat called the Skylark from the slipway (it's just opposite the Golden Ball), up until the end of October. He's called Brian, supplies the rods and bait for you and you can call him on 07812373636. |
