I think if I had to choose it would be savoury food, pate, cheese, vol-au-vents with savoury filling, mini pizzas, quiche - but what about you?

The song Can't go back to savoury (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=83421772)highlights beautifully some of the points of your cerebrally philosophical dichotomy

Starter and a main course for me.

Mrs surfin goes for the main and dessert.

Meals last a long time at our house.

Soup:- butternut squash followed by a rack of lamb with the trimmings!

Owt Ice Cream. Magnums and cornettos prefferably. So mine would have to be sweet

In general I prefer savoury. I've never had desserts or puddings after meals until very recently and I never snack on biscuits / crisps.......if presented with something sweet and chocolately I would certainly be tempted but I don't go out and buy the stuff

Sweet and savoury - for example a stew or curry with chilli, ginger and apricots. Or a Bobortie which has curry powder and jam and vinegar in it
