My instructor had a Nissan Micra, my dad had a Vauxhall Astramax van which I did most of my learning in. Early learnt lessons on how to reverse using only the door mirrors still stand me in good stead. first car you bought? A Nova (un modded, I got 54% in the how chav are you quiz though :( ) fastest car? Probably an Audi Quatro, it feels like you're doing about 50 until you stick your arm out the window and it almost gets ripped off at the socket. It was at this point I realised I was doing 120. coolest car? I just love my Escort diesel I'm afraid. All the way to the south of France on a single tank. My ambition is to do a million miles in it. worst car? Anything with automatic transmittion. Can't stand it. Tracie 10-01-2005, 17:33 My first, worst, only car was a Fiat Uno I brought in 1997... I'd just started driving lessons and thought it would be good to practise in. The major flaw in this plan was the assumption that I would want to practise - I quickly realised how much I actually hate driving! I never got as far as my test, I gave up after three lessons. The car? It ended up going to the scrap heap, it really was that awful. tslogf74 10-01-2005, 17:49 I don't think I was overly impressed at first. In fact, it was days after I passed my test before I even got into a car. Nowadays I really enjoy it though. Perhaps Sheffield is not the best place to learn? It's a strange feeling of freedom when you drive the same route to work each morning and everytime you approach the junction where you always turn left, you think, I could turn right here, and just see where it takes me. You never will turn right, but you could if you wanted to. That sort of sums it up for me. And there's nothing quite like doing seventy on the motorway and singing your heart out at the top of your voice to your favorite CD safe in the knowledge that nobody can hear you. npatchett 10-01-2005, 18:26 what was the first car you drove?
