Could anyone please recommend a good gas appliance service engineer in the Sheffield/Rotherham area who is reasonable and doesn't rip people off.

Ive just tried to find on this morning as our boiler wouldn't light.

What a carry on. There is one in Sheffield that Ive used before through work called Ex Gas and ine the past I found them very good.

We have a problem at work with our fitters hitting the odd gas pipe from time to time and they are always propmt, charges are reasonable and the work is good.

Today however when I needed them to come to my house they said they won't work outside of the City. Im onlt two minutes from junction 31 and this really p****d me off !!!!

Not to worry though it fixed now.

If you live in Sheffield though you cant go wrong with these guy's.

I agree, Exgas are prompt and very reasonable. I use them for my landlord certificates so they have to be Corgi reg. and they have also serviced my own gas fires. They are called this because they used to work for British Gas.

You can find them in yellow pages.

Ex-gas - if this the one who is based at Frecheville - stay away!

I know some people have trouble finding a gas engineer but I would hope they've found one in over a year :hihi:

With some of the reliability of plumbers on this forum it wouldn't surprise me at all if they were still looking.

I would highly recommend PHBE - Plumbing and Heating Engineers. They have just serviced my boiler and they found it was missing two screws that the last guy who serviced it had left out. The boiler is much quieter now and I was grateful they were so thorough. They also checked my gas cooker and the gas fire while they were here. Very reasonable price. 07737237864/07979086473
