Saw on Teletext that Emu will be back on the tv, however I have my concerns (on behalf of children)

Will a programme like this encourage violence? and will impressionable 6-11 year olds copy what they see on the TV and bite passers by?

What do others think?

Hopefully the new series will get a better reception than Rod did...

Wonder if Grotbags from here'll get a role in the new show... As Grotbags?

As for Emu, they'll have to keep that ruddy bird under control to avoid lawsuits, in the 70s and 80s people didn't sue you for the slighest thing, then again no Judge worth his wig would allow a case of assault by Emu! It's a Puppet for chuff sake! :loopy:

Would you be as cocky if this bird/puppet pecked you? not I thought not.

But the underlying concern is the potential for kids to copy emu. Is this a laughing matter?

Surely you can't be serious I grew up seeing emu on the TV and my generation didnt do us any harm. In fact he was very amusing and I think it would be great to see some of todays up there own arse stars wrestling with emu!:hihi:

It will encourage so much violence that, in a few month's time, the police will have to organise an Emu amnesty to try and get as many bird puppets off the streets as possible. Thousands of inner-city children will be the victims of drive-by peckings, and the whole thing will be glamourized by thugs wearing gold beaks around their necks.
