If you were introducing someone to Sheffield, what would you say were the city's highlights?
For example, which is the best pub? Fat Cat, or Sheaf View?
Here's an initial top ten (in no particular order) to kick things off.
Park: Botanical Gardens;
Pub: White Lion (Heeley);
Shop: Record Collector;
Place to stroll: Ecclesall Woods/Stanage Edge;
Museum: Kelham Island;
Building: Town hall/ cathedral;
Chip shop: Two Steps (Sharrow Vale);
Concert venue: City Hall;
Church: High Bradfield;
View of city centre: Meersbrook Park.
Apologies if this sort of thing has been done before, but I'm new to the Forum.
Also, is these are some of the best (always open to dispute and discussion) what are the city's top ten worst things.

Sheffield's greatest asset is not a pub, it's a sauce, we sheffielders are all a bit saucy. it's black and it has an orange label it's made by a company which begins with the letter H :clap: :rant: :thumbsup: :cool: :o :D ;) :P :hihi:
Spot on Mr. Coffee. Second best thing is, of course, me.....

Sheffield has a lot going for it and in the past I know I have shown visitors to the city things like
1. Ecclesall Woods, people are often amazed at just how much green space Sheffield has
2. Record Collector, again one friend has to be dragged out of that shop otherwise she'd be in there all day.
3. Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, again people are surprised to see a building that looks genuinilly old.
4. The extensive range of second hand shops, the times I've walked up along London and Abbeydale road going into all the furniture shops.
5. Heeley city farm and Graves Park rare breeds centre so kids have the chance to actually touch some real animals.
6. The Peak Distict National Park, to many interesting places to list
7. Pubs at Totley for a quiet drink, The White Lion my old local and so far I've taken one person to the Classic Rock Bar
8. If they're into shopping I'm quite happy to give them directions to Meadowhell or Crystal Peaks or give them a guided tour of the city centre
9. I suppose the ski slopes should be mentioned though wild animals wouldn't drag me onto the slopes.
