I came across what seems like an excellent deal for anyone wanting to dabble within the world of web hosting. It's with DreamHost, and you get 200GB disk space, over 1TB bandwidth, and a .com domain.

Just seems too good an offer to miss, in my eyes - so I signed up :roll: And you can always cancel with full refund within 97 days if you don't like it.

The catches are (a) hosted in the US, not the UK and (b) after the first year, you have to pay full-whack if you want to continue with them (around £60 a year).

i used to use them a few years ago and never had any problems with them. they have really great email support and i dont think my hosting ever went down in the year i was with them. i know loads of people who didnt have any issues with leaving after their one year was up.

I'm not sure they'd be ideal for a commercial site, but for a personal site I've been very impressed so far. And 200GB+ is rather useful for backup storage!

i think if youre running a small business and know your stuff they shouldnt be an issue. and for personal use they are ace
