I think that they do accept work experience applicants, but I know that they have far more than they can handle for virtually every week of the year and so have had to put limits on the numbers that they take.

The best thing that you can do is to ring the Shelter on 2724441 and ask to speak to the warden (they try to answer all calls between 1.30 and 4.00 daily). The staff usually have a list of which schools are doing work experience on which weeks and therefore the potential spaces that are available for any week.
