Have been a couple of times with various reluctant friends to enjoy the rock bands on Weds eves & the 'jamming' session on Sunday afternoons at the Woodseats (Hotel?) I wondered if any other girlies on the site go too so i could meet up with them?? Am interested in taking up drumming so if I pluck up courage might even get to chat to a few of the 'jammers' (is that the right word???). Trouble is going as a single female sometimes feels a bit vulnerable although I will do it rather than not go!!! Any ideas?

bumping this to the top as I now know months later that there are a number of fellow fourummers in Woodseats and do not believe that no-one wants to go!!! Have been a few times and it's a great place, with a good, friendy atmosphere. And after all, what else is there to do between 3pm and 7pm on a Sunday???

I've not been around Woodseats in years so i don't quite know what pub your talking about. Is it a proper rock pub or just a normal pub with bands on?

dunno what a 'normal' pub is to be honest

It's a pub that has rockbands on.

I didn't know there was such thing.

I'd be interested in going though. I only live up the road at Lowedges.

It's not like the Boardwalk or anything...it's the old 'Firkin' pub. .... Wooden floors, church pews and oversized Jenga and Connect 4 games....!!

A great pub with good beer and friendly atmosphere!!

In fact Woodseats is a great night out!!

I go in the woodseats all the time....... well used to on a sunday night but it was kareoke, has this now changed then?

Your right, woodseats is a great night out especially for us locals as its only a 20 minutes walk home if we spend all our money on beer and have no other way of getting home, it's even funnier when we're a bit worse for wear and we dare walk up through Graves Park woods.

Aint never inflicted my karaoke on anyone in Woodseats yet (still time though!) :D

Feel my Official Woodseats Social Secretary persona creeping over me so might have to get a 'bit of a meet' going for Woodseats Personnel only. Barrier controls will be set up to deter people from surrounding areas from infiltrating our happy throng (although Raychul will be allowed as she has previously registered an interest and is brave enough to walk through the woods in Graves Park, which are creepy enough during the day).

<----thinks Blair Witch Project and looks for Handy-Cam:help:

Yeah - great idea!!

The forum has so many members now I am sure nobody would mind if local meets were organised!!

Larger venues could host a 'total forum meet' every quarter!!

It gives the single forumers chance to go to the meets alone feeling more confident meeting in place they know well etc

It sounds like a plan is coming togeter:clap:

It really is fun scaring the s**t our of your self after 10 pints walking through the woods. Although I should be more responsible as it can't be safe wandering around in the woods on my own.

I once got in a taxi from woodeasts to home and woke up in a field in Dronfield at 5 in the morning. Maybe it is safer to walk alone in the dark woods:(

:D :D :D :D :D :D

the only thing that would scare me walking through the woods after ten pints was if I could get home without peeing myself!!!!:help:

Ha ha - wouldn't you just squat in the woods....I would!!!

But then if I need to go ....I need to go !!

I generally end up using the men's anyway on a night out in town...there's always a queue in the ladies!!

:suspect:

Raychul69..."I once got in a taxi from woodseats to home and woke up in a field in Dronfield at 5 in the morning. Maybe it is safer to walk alone in the dark woods".... Did you forget to pay the taxi driver so he kicked you out of his cab...or did you pay for the fare in the field...tut tut!!

Drinking around woodseats is a good night out and the 'woodseats' pub is a cool little place when its got a decent band on. Trouble is, its all walking uphill for me to get back to my castle. So if any of you notice me having a little rest either in 'graves park' of along 'meadowhead road', i've not fallen over drunk. I've just setup a base-camp, in preparation to make the final assecent home in the morning
