As the title reads really! Like to get out and play music in a relaxed atmosphere with other like minded folk, The Notty at Broomhill used to be good, don't know if they still do it?

There are a few, but the only ones I've been to are can u jam at the Malin Bridge Inn (used to be at the Deep End in Hilsborough), which is on wednesdays and sundays, The Woodseats hotel on chesterfield road. Both have a good standard of musicians and more importantly encourage anyone to get up an' ave a go! There was a very friendly acoustic jam at the Gardeners rest once a month but I'm not sure if they're open again after the flooding

Thought I'd resurrect this post as there must be loads of open mic/jam nights in Sheffield. The ones I know of are:

Sunday - Pomona, Ecclesall Road. (Not been running long, but starting to build.)
Monday - The Vine, Cemetery Road.
Tuesday - The Cremorne, London Road.
Wednesday - The Red House, Solley Street. (Get there early!)
and one Friday a month (Can't remember which one) upstairs at the Fat Cat

So, you guys know of any more?

The Vine open Mic is now on Wednesdays with the pool comp in the other side.

Still trying to get word round so not bustling yet but getting there, and plenty of room for newcomers, all welcome.

Looking for open mic nights and new band nights to play at.

Rock covers rather than original songs. How many are still running.

Open Space are still running various nights around the city.

Our current regular night is in The Redhouse, on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month.

Details of all our events are on our website (I can't post it because I'm new). We're pretty friendly, come play for us!

Afraid the Malin's gone down the pan again. The only people performing are the resident rock band. Yes they are very good, but no body else, irrespective of skill level is getting up. Having a full band up for most of the night may possibly put people off from getting up. How can a lone guitarist compete with a covers rock band for audience attention?

However, the Castle jam seems to be better run and has some format to it for allowing people up.

The Midland in Killarmarsh is one of the (if not THE) longest running jam night. It's run by fantastic local musicians who are all up for trying something new. Very welcoming of singers and musicians of all ages and abilities. Free food, late bar and a good laugh! :)

Open mic night at the Redhouse is on a Thursday. It tends to get a fair amount of people in and is a very relaxed eveing with a range of different styles being displayed.
