He said 'fine', I wished him good day (sarcastically) and went home. Was very satisfying indeed! Funke88 07-01-2005, 20:36 Yup, it's very difficult to take a "**** you" back. Once it's out you're a gonner for sure. See ya. Zebra 07-01-2005, 21:20 Yup, I've done a '*^*$%£ you and your job' and I've done a no show. Was in the job about 2 years, felt abused over quite a while so one day I just stopped going, no problems. They never even rang me lol. Never been fired yet.... but in one of my jobs its tempting to arrange it. :) Angel05 07-01-2005, 21:45 On my last day i told my Manager a few home truths... I had to leave my Job because of her making my life very difficult... She was all sweetness an light when i went in to ask if i could leave (as she made me stay till 5pm - no leaving gift or card)... but i soon shot her down a peg or 2... It was so unlike me to lose my temper in such a way... what more could i do... she made my life hell for 2 years i wasnt just gonna walk out the door and keep it bottled up inside... This is the woman that played head games with me an pushed me out of my Job of 10yrs... I had to tell her exactly how it was... I left the office shaking like anything... I was angry... saxon51 07-01-2005, 21:55 Once heard about a gardener/groundsman who was layed off with a week's notice. His last task was to plant crocus bulbs in the office lawns. The following spring the boss looked out of his office window one beautiful day to see the word bo**ocks spelt out in shades of white and purple. Classic:clap: Plain Talker 07-01-2005, 23:34 I worked for a contract cleanin company, donkeys years ago. the manageress was a complete, b*tch. I was a good timekeeper and a good worker, always there on time, and always did my work efficiently and thoroughly. One particular day, I had sliced my foot open, on a broken bottle-base, that was sticking up through the grass we were clearing, on our new allotment. I went up to casualty, as I needed stitches in it. Unfortunately, this made me about 20 mins to half an hour late, for my start-time of five PM. However, I arrived there, albeit a bit late, and got stuck in , and actually managed to complete my work by the 7pm finish. This manageress stopped me, and went absolutely ape at me, for my lateness. I explained, apologetically, to her, about the injury, andtold her that the casualty department had been a bit more crowded than I had expected, but that I had got there as close to my start-time as I could. (rather than let them down.) Despite being able to see the dressing, and the bleeding, from the wound etc she was still nasty about it and continued to dress me down in front of the other staff. I said:- "but what do you expect me to do? I had to go to casualty, because of the severity of the wound, and I got here as soon as I could. Did you want me to turn up here at five, with a still- bleeding, unstitched wound? For goodness sake, I got done in thae time everything I was supposed to do, what more could I have done?" She continued to be nasty about it. By this time, I had completely had enough of her, so I got the office keys, and shoved them toward her, and said:- "Ok, stuff you, and stuff your job. There's the keys, and you can shove them where the sun doesn't shine! don't expect ME back!" PT Kristian 08-01-2005, 01:15 About two years ago I worked for a large company in the centre of Sheffield. There were about 700 of us working in several sites, and through internal transfers etc. had mates in most of the offices. One of these mates from an admin section told me that she had put a young kid on disciplinary for lateness and absence, and terminated his contract on the day of his final disciplinary hearing. She was expecting him to be quite vocal about his treatment, but instead he thanked her for her patience, cleared his desk and left quietly. She immediately thought something 'wasn't quite right' and checked her desk for food shoved in her drawer to go mouldy / wee in the kettle etc. :gag: About five days later her section recieved loads of complaints from other companies they dealt with about the letters her staff had been sending out. The young kid had printed a v. rude four letter 'c' word in very small light grey type on a whole ream of paper, and then put it back into the printer! Nobody noticed it before they were mailed! I laughed till I nearly weed! K x Strix 09-01-2005, 22:05 After failed pay negotiations with one boss, (you're a clerk - you get paid clerk's wages) I left my resignation letter in his intray, and one in the staff managers office (so no going back!). He (rather arrogantly) 'gave me a chance to re-consider, before it is forwaded to the staff manager'. He was taken aback at being informed that she had a copy. He was less pleased to be informed that I didn't need to work - coz Mr Strix 'earns more than you do'. This job involved arranging repairs/installations of tv equipment and it was 6 weeks 'til Christmas. It takes about six months to find your feet in the job. On the last day of my notice period (silly grin affixed to my face!), I was taken into his office and asked to stay. There was the small matter of a staff bonus, but I had since booked a skiing trip which prevented me working the day I had to still be there by to collect on this. He went away and came back offering me unpaid leave on that day, so I could cash in - so I stayed and worked the Christmas trading. I got £2,000 for a day's unpaid leave!!!!! All because I didn't burn the bridges on the way! wendy 09-01-2005, 22:17 Wow Strix that would take some beating! wendy 09-01-2005, 22:46 Just under 5 years ago I worked for a printing firm in Dronfield (I won't name them as that would be unfair on the firm) as an accounts assistant when the woman who was my immediate supervisor took a day's leave to go to her ex father-in-law's funeral during that day I had got down quite a lot of work so much so that there was very little outstanding the following morning! When I got in the next day she accused me of having only completed the equivalent of half a day's work during the previous day when she was absent. Needless to say I was outraged! I told her that I considered that to be an insult and that she only needed to check with the directors that were present to find out how much work I had done but that if she felt like that she could have my resignation there and then. At this point she started to back pedal and make excuses about having been hasty but I had really had enough of this woman's bullying and insulting behaviour (she had insulted me before but I had let it pass as a throwaway remark!) and had made my mind up by the time it came around to lunchtime. I had only worked there for 4 months and had just got past the trial period but enough is enough! So I rang one of the agencies I had worked for before who did have something and they arranged an interview for me in 3 days time. So that evening I wrote a 2 page letter to the managing director and other directors of the firm telling them that I no longer wished to work for a firm that did not give their employees any trust and treated them like schoolchildren (we weren't allowed private telephone calls either in or out - even in an emergency, and if I had a conversation with the part time wage clerk whose desk I had to store my things in the MD used to come in and tell us to shut up). I also told them that I was no longer prepared to work under the supervision of someone who had insulted me personally and professionally and that if they allowed her to continue treating people like that they would continually lose staff. I included a calculation of the holiday I had taken and the entitlement I had used so far and requested that I leave with immediate effect. None of the other people in the office liked the woman and I was the 4th person in the accounts job none of the others had lasted longer than 3 months but not one of them had told the company directors why they had left. I left at lunchtime the day after I gave them the letter since it was the end of the month but thoughout that half day it was obvious that the entire company knew what had happened and she kept getting sarcastic comments from the md everytime he came into the office. Enough revenge for me as it was relief to get away from the place! |
