Has anyone stayed in a youth hostel in Paris.
There are four hostels in the area and I want to book the nearest to the airport or the centre of Paris.
I have emailed all 4 but anyone who has stayed in them would make it quicker to book.

I'm not sure that any of the four afilliated ones are very near the centre.
I've stayed at the one called D'artagnan. Its within 100 yards of the nearest metro, and takes about 15/20 mins on the metro to the centre.
I don't think it is particularly near either airport, but I can't remmeber exactly as it was a few years ago.
It was a really nice hostel though.

According to the email its 17km from the airport and 15 mins from the centre by metro.
I think I will book that one.
Is it a good hostel ?.
You mention 2 airports, which ones are they, I persumed Charles de Gaul was the airport.
Charles de Gaulle (Roissy) is the largest airport and the one where most scheduled flights would land, Paris's version of Heathrow.
The second airport is Orly in the south of Paris (equivalent maybe to Stansted or Gatwick, charter flights and inland flights).

Spent the year last year in Paris as I am originally from there. I can't stick the place and really dont kn ow where this "romantic" city comes from. London is miles better than Paris. If you're going to stay in the suburbs of Paris avoid at all cost the 93 region (seine st denis) it's literally like the bronx. Loads of tower blocks and very rough.
The 78 region (Yvelines) is the best by far, Versailles and Viroflay being the real french way of life.
Enjoy anyway and tell me if u need more info!

All I know is its the east side of Paris about 15 minutes away from the centre of the city on the metro.
cycleracer, yes it is the c.d gaul airport where we are heading to
so the nearest to there would be preferable..
thanks
