ethel my darling dwarf hammy (female and a few months old), is still looking for a new home.
emily is getting ever more confident and will soon be in the cage!! she was circling it yesterday!!

so if you can give my ethel a home please get in touch.

she has a cage, bedding, food, toys, a hamster carrier, a castle/fort play area, treats, an exercise ball. and shes such a darling.

im asking for £20, just to ensure she is going to a proper home - not that someones taking her on a whim. btw the £20 is for the cage and her tons of accessories, ethel is free to a good home (if that makes sense)

full list of ethels accessories:
cage with wheel & toy logs (and water bottle & food bowl)
hamster carrier
castle/fort
crinkle tunnel
tube tunnel
swing/seesaw play set
some treats
bedding
food
sawdust
fluffy bed
exercise ball

PS: I also have a larger cage for sale with wheel, food bowl, water bottle, fluffy bed and climbing wall. £10.

Not meaning to pick an arguement or be nasty in any way. Far from it I hope ethel finds a lovely home. But, why are you rehoming your hamster and not the kitten when you had the hamster first? Surely there is some way of keeping Ethel safe from Emily. It just seemed really strange to me that you were so excited and proud of the hamsters when you got them and would constantly talk about them but as soon as the kitten came along it was all about her and the hamsters had to be rehomed. Sorry if this sounds nasty but it's been puzzling me since you posted they needed rehoming.

I have to admit that the thought crossed my mind also. I didn't want any animals to have to be rehomed. However, I believe keely is just trying to do the best by her pets, by keeping the hamster safe from the cat and that I can fully understand. Keely, if you want any tips on how to teach Emily that Ethel is not a toy and is not food then either pm myself or any other of the many cat lovers on here, i'm sure that everyone would love to help you keep both your much loved pets!

I have cats and my daughter has a hamster called Rosie and it isn't a problem. They all learnt that the hamster was no fun and don't even glance in her direction now, although I do close the door when Rosie is in her ball or out of the cage, just on the safe side :). I have have many hamsters myself and none have ever been harmed by the cats. Even the one who often opened her own cage to wander across to the other side of the room to the other hamster :hihi:
