can anyone help?
a few weeks before christmas there was an old photo of my brother-in-law published in the star it was taken in approx 1954 whilst he was working for the gpoive tried locating pics from the star but dont seem to be able to open them?

thanx its just that id like a copy of the photo for my sister she hasnt got 1 and my brother-in-law is now dead

I keep putting the date range in for mine, but it keeps saying - no photographs or photographic catergeries for these date ranges.

Butch,
You may already know but if you cannot get what you want online (they only put a fraction of the paper on the web) you can go to the Star Shop on York Street in the centre of town.
There, they have the back copies of The Star in monthly binders.
You can look for the issue and photo in question and buy it there and then.

Butch I was amessenger at the same time as Wingy.
i have a photo with Brian on taken at a wedding. I will try to get a copy to you if you like.It was taken ina pub down Attercliff and there are quite a few of his workmates on. It was taken some time in the early 60s, we had all come out of the forces by that time. let me know if you want a copy

just a line to let you know theres a site on forum called gpo telegram 1954/56 if you get in touch with tetegramboy at kayarr@blueyonder.co.uk he has some pictues of the lads
who worked with wingy i also was at gpo same time hope this helps regards aj
