A while back someone created a quote box

like this but it had a scroll bar over there ------------------>

How do you do it?

Like this:

Insert random text for example:

sf sdfsdf
sgdgfsdg
d
sdgdg

dfgdfgdfgd

gdafgfgdf
dfg
dfg
sdfg
dfgds
dfg
d
fgdfgdf
dfg
dfg
dfg

df

dfgdfg

dgdg
asdf
sdfsdf
sdfs
dfsf
fsfs
sdfsf

dfg

Use the code tag button (looks like this: #).

Might work with the HTML tag button too, though haven't tried that.

Nice one.

I must admit I was lazy and didn't bother to look it up.

But hey! I can do it now.

Wahey! :D

Thanks Hecate, didn't think it was as simple as that.

But the boxes are still quite large. What's the use of having a scroll bar if the box is going to be so big anyway? How do you make the overall grey are smaller?

It only appears to work when you go over a certain number of text lines.

I guess that's because it allows you to post a huge lump of programming code in a post and have scrolling, rather than have a post take up a lot of space.

Maybe the administrator sets the maximum number of lines allowed in a code box, hence the maximum size of the box, after which a scroll bar will be used?
