hello all.
I'm currently in the process of buying a house. My solicitor has discovered the deeds to the property are only possessory title and not absolute. Has anyone else on here had this situation? I've been told that the original deeds were lost and this is quite normal. However I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and whether thare is anything I should be aware of that I haven't discussed with my solicitor. Can anything go wrong?
Any advice would be very appreciated.

I know you're not really supposed to bump a posting but it's been a few days now and still no reply to this post. Isn't there anyone who knows about possessory title deeds instead of deed absolute when buying a house? All I can seem to find on the net is stuff about squatters claiming possession and stuff like that.
Has anyone else had this situation?
Please, pretty please answer

Hi no its not that unusual - sometimes the originals do go missing. You can take an indemnity insurance out to cover anything going wrong ask your solicitor for further advice.

Surely your solicitor is in the best position to explain?
