I want to clear everything off my laptop and re-install windows.

I do not want to leave anything on.

How do I do this.

You'll need to boot the computer from the windows CD. To do this go into the bios and make your first boot device CD. Put the win CD in and restart. Then follow the instructions. Simple.

You then have the fun of reinstalling all your drivers and programs. I tend to download all the most recent versions and burn them to CD before doing a wipe and reinstall then it's easy. Also you might as well up date windows before installing any other programs

Make sure you back up any work first because you won't be able to get it back.

It does depend on what operating system you are using, the previous post assumes you are using XP or possibly ME really. If it's an older machine you might well need to make a boot disk..
