Go to Google (http://www.google.com) click on the images tab, type Mr Burns and you will find plenty;)

Go into the control panel and then edit options, the avatar button is at the bottom of the page. After clicking this you go to another page where you can upload it from your pc (browse) or a url.
The max size is 50 by 50 pixels.

I dont know about making moving ones, but to make a static one you just get a pic you like and shrink it down to nowt and then upload it - which is what I did.

I too would like to learn how to upload one that moves, I have a gif at home which would be lovely, please ask if we can upload gifs

Avatars are small graphical images that you may choose in your profile. They are displayed below your username on all posts that you make. You can select the image that best describes yourself from your profile options which is part of your control panel.

On a PC, open the pic you want to use, go to image then to resize and drag the picture down to something miniscule.

Then save it as small(whateveritusedtobecalled) (so that you arent messing with the original)

Then load it up

Email the pic to inbox 'at' sheffieldforum.co.uk and Geoff will resize for ya (I believe... if you ask him nicely).

Amazingly, on this topic, I seem to have managed to upload one!!

The uploading was the easy bit... the problem was that every single flamin one I did was either two big, or saved in the wrong format. And the ones I tried to get off the google images search wouldn't save as .gif or .jpg

In the end I found a very small one on google images search, right clicked it and chose copy, then opened Paint, pasted it into there, saved it as .gif and *finally* it worked!!

Incidentally if you do "advanced search" in the google images section, I discovered that you can limit your search to images of a certain size. That helped a lot.

Your options - edit options - avatar is down at the bottom.
