:)Re: Prototype Newsletter I'm putting together for the Lower Manor area. I would like to appeal to anyone who has any ideas. (Genuine). Also if anyone would like to write an article or even a poem etc. Thanks for reading:D
NatalieSheff 06-01-2005, 12:36 what about doing something on racism / homophobia in schools?
Good idea thanks. However I really don't have the relevant knowledge to write this type of article. If this were an issue in schools in the area then I would be interested to hear from anyone who has any facts on this.:)
alchresearch 06-01-2005, 21:03 How about some old photos of the area?
I'd really like to include some old photos!! I know someone who's lived in the area for a long time and hopefully can help. Don't want to be trouble finding pics on net, with copyright issues etc.:)

msbehavin 09-01-2005, 13:20 Good idea Chez - shame some people on here cant resist having a dig at people in certain parts of the city - it seemed like a genuine request for help to me not an offer to give people a **** take.
Have you been to the Genesis shop on the Manor? We used to take our unwanted stuff there for them to resell- raises funds for the nearby St Swithuns church for their toddler groups, old peoples luncheon clubs etc The shop sells all sorts of stuff donated by people to the residents on the manor and isf a meeting point. Havent been down there myself for a while but it used to be managed by a lovely lady called Joyce who lived near there. Maybe an article about the shop? PM me if you want to chat any more about this and good luck.
I set this up to get genuine ideas for my project, for a course I am taking very seriously! I haven't lived in Sheffield very long so therefor wanted to get response from local people. If you've got nothing less childish to say don't bother. Save it for the school yard.
 Hi there
I wanted to revive this email and thank everyone for their brilliant ideas!!
I have completed my course now. Things didn't go quite as planned, I only put together a newsletter for my course. I ended up getting part-time employment as a result of my research. I have been very busy, but thought it was about time I got back on the site.
Thanks again!!!
Cutglass 17-03-2005, 21:01 sorry didn't realise this was an old thread and posted something that I thought could've been used!! thats the reason I've had to edit.
Sorry I'm not with you. And I should have said old thread not email!! Had a couple to celebrate some results!
 Sorry my brain has woken up now!! I'm still open to listening to peoples ideas and will help them to put them across if possible. Thanks alot!!!:)
stevie1957 17-03-2005, 21:32 One of the best people in the area is a fella called Graham Appleyard. He has loads of info and pictures of the area.
Well done with your Ecdl exams
I'll note that name for future reference. Thanks very much :)
Well said Chez,,,,i live just down the road from the Manor and it is the same as any other area,,,there are bad and good,it is just unfortunate that the bad, which are the minority, give the Manor such a bad name!
The majority are good, hard working decent people,,,,it's a pity that others dont see this!
Don_Kiddick 21-03-2005, 07:21 Ayup..

'Death threat' to hate-mob victimHATE-mob victim John Harrison has received a chilling death threat days after telling The Star how he got two local thugs locked up. The 63-year-old, of The Circle on Sheffield's Manor estate, received a computer-printed letter claiming he is "a dead man".
That is bad news!:( Fortunately I live on the other side of Prince of Wales Road. As said before stories like that do give Manor a bad name, however it is a very big place and this sort of things happens in all sorts of areas.
