To confirm for anyone who doesn't know - I think ADHD stands for "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder". (Am I right?)
(BTW, I've changed the title to something that should hopefully draw people in who know about ADHD.)

How about this to get you started:

I am a special needs tutor but in F.E. if I can offer any advice I'd be happy to. PM me if you'd like to carry on the matter more privately.

I do not know of anything specifically in Sheffield but I do have a friend who's son also has AHADD and also my brother suffers too.

I'm not aware of any groups in Sheffield either. Does anyone know of any adults with this disorder. What are the symptoms? I have a feeling a good friend of mine has ADD (not hyperactivity though). If anyone knows of an adult with this I would appreciate if they could PM me with the kind of behaviour they exhibit. Thanks

I don't think it actually exists in adults as AHADD is something they grow out of in later life.
If you know an adult suffering with this its possible he has another mental illness.
feel though i,m stepping on toes with my advice as an untrained expert so anyone with the right training, Doctor or Social worker would be my first port of call.

Try these people:
Disability Information Service for Children (DISC)
Tel: 0114 284 5000
Email: discsheffield@msn.co.uk
We've used this service for our son who has developmental problems similar to Dispraxia and ADHD.
They're fantastic - helped us to get DLA for him. We got refused twice until they helped us.
Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Check his food intake. It could be due to additives or sugars which is affecting him in this way.

ADD does exist in adults- it just tends to be less exaggerated than in children. The main symptoms are the same.
Good luck with it.
Try the social services department at Redvers House on union street, if they don't do it, they might be able to point you in the right direction.
