So far this series we've had things like Harry Potter, the career of Jenifer Aniston and other such trivial subjects.

I'm not being elitist but its not really a proud boast to know about such things

It has been happening for years, since it returned at the very least. I'm not sure if it's just 'dumbing down', as much as fewer people don't study/read/take an interest in the really arcane subjects which used to be on it when I was younger.

So, what subjects would you choose?

And I like how you're trying to sound extremely intelligent and well-read, but if you were you'd know the meaning of the word 'arcane'.

The whole point of Mastermind is to be quizzed on a topic of your choice. Just because someone chooses Harry Potter doesn't mean they're bringing the program down. What's the difference between Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings? Or Jennifer Aniston and any other popular comedy actresses from years gone by?

I guess the programme is just evolving. In the future I imagine there will be people answering questions on the Gulf War as opposed to World War 2

Thank god for recording facilities. A quick look at the opening moments to see if any of the topics hold any interest for me, if not then whizz through to the general knowledge followed by half an hour of Paxo versus the student world.

Alzheimers, do your worst.
