If you want to watch really nasty creepy horror movies, watch Meir Zachi's "I spit on your grave" or Ruggero Deodato's "Cannibal Holocaust" or at the very least Wes Craven's "Last House on the Left". All of the above rely on the genuine conventions of the horror/nasty movie not the current, how much blood can we get on screen, approach to movie making. I agree the franchise is usually wearing a little thin by #4 but #3 was still good so will give this one a go.
