there are some very sad people in our house tonight. Mr and Mrs Bunny managed to breakthrough the door of their house two nights ago, they should have been o.k as we recently re-roofed the attached run as they had been escaping, however we are pretty certain something bigger and with sharp teeth broke in through the roof and has dragged them off, we found bloody fur on the lawn and have seen absolutely nothing of them. have searched and searched, asked all the neighbours etc etc, we won't give up hope yet but feeling pretty pessimistic.

Thats such worrying news, I suppose its hard when things like this happen as we can never know for definate what happened unless they are found. At least they are together either here or at Rainbow bridge :)

Sorry to hear that. It's so awful, you do what you can to keep them safe but sometimes nothing is enough.
I found that out. If foxes want to get them that bad, they will find a way in.

I watched a programme a couple of months ago on urban foxes and it frightened me to death. An epxert on there said urban foxes know where every chicken coop is and every rabbit hutch in the areas they petrole. I worry about my two rabbits all the time now. I baracade them in at night, but as you say if they really want to get at them they will. Poor bunnies, being terrorised, it's awful. I think I would have to think twice about having bunnies again what with foxes, flippin mixomitosis, fly strike etc etc. they seen to be a constant worry to me.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate all the sympathy, we feel so guilty that we didn't protect them enough, we have been very sad, youngest daughter has been inconsolable. I think we will not be keeping bunnies again, i would lie awake worrying silly about them, and with three dogs and three dogs we just can't have indoor bunnies.
