Hi,

I have a Canon 300D digital SLR. I;ve had it for 2 years but used it little. The reason being alothough I have invested in an external flash the photo's are still quite dark and look very uninteresting, I don't have a clue what I'm doing wrong, can anyone offer help or advice? I've tried to get on a photography course but they seem geared towards digital imaging on the Pc afterwards when what I really want to know is how to use the camera!

Thanks,
Jane.

Is everything dark? What about if you take it outside in the middle of the day shoot some stuff then?

Is it dark on full auto?

If it's dark all the time then the camera probably has a tendency to underexpose. You could correct that by switching the camera to manual (M) and leaving the little exposure marker a little to the right of the camera's chosen "optimal" exposure. (Assumign the 300D shows you a little marker in the viewfinder when you're in manual mode)

for courses try goingdigital.co.uk, they show you how to use it.

it could be exposure settings, which you can easily tweak.
if its the flash it might not be TTL(i think?) that is compatible with digital.

have you checked your pics on other computers? It could be your monitor!
