View Full Version : Eastern avenue Manor
Hi,
I,M due to start a new job on easton avenue working at the jobcentre there but i know it,s on the manor eastate so i what i want to know is how safe is it. is it safe waiting at the tramstop to go home ect...
Michael_N 26-08-2007, 16:16 It's not on the manor at all, the manor is the otherside of city road, it is arbourthorne, and it is pronounced EASTERN AVENUE! also the tram stop is about a 600 yard walk away from the job centre, the bus stop is closer for the 41 on city road, or you have the bus stop directly outside the job centre for the 132 into town.
It is a fairly safe area, you may get people sat outside the arbourthorne club next door, but thats about it, it's in the middle of the estates you want to be worried about, not on the outskirts, also depends on what you would consider rough, for a council esate this is not a rough area at all!
Cherrs, how long does the 132 take to get into town is it quicker than the tram.
Michael_N 26-08-2007, 16:55 Well the 132 runs every 20 minutes, and runs through eastern avenue, then onto northern avenue, then streight down east bank road into town, takes around 10 minutes, and yeah i would say it is quicker than the tram, and runs down from granville square/queens road onto matilda street, then eyre street, then arundel gate, around the markets then into bus station.
The tram goes all around spring line and arbourthorne before going into town, and that takes around 13 minutes. Allthough the tram is every 10 minutes and the 132 every 20 minutes.
HTH :)

Sounds like an advisor
My god, you are soon to become one of the most hated people in the civil service, I used to work on social fund @ hartshead square (I was the most hated but I left...) and from my experience of the floor walkers of that place, my god you must be a really arrogant, obnoxious git, you seem ok so put in for a transfer asap.

How would i put in for a transfer, to be honest i would like to transfer to hillsborough jobcentre or one in the towncentre as there much closer to where i live.
You will be able to do the paper work online and print it off from the new H.R online system. A few from our place have put in tranfer request's. They have to wait for a space to become available at the office you requested (I think). I find our office to be fine most of the time so have not botherd to request for a new office as yet.
My postion is just temp for 6 months and from what i,ve been told i need to call the DWP offices in Newcastle to ask about the transfer.
