My mum got a birthday card at the beginning of December - her birthday's not til the end of January. We think the sender got a bit mixed up.

West Street Post Office had creme eggs on sale a few weeks before Christmas. :suspect:

Someone needs to contact Cadburys - in Canada they have done it the wrong way around and made MINI creme eggs - cant be good for adult sized fingers

http://www.landofcadbury.ca/lo/mompop/products/cremeeggs.htm

and what's worse, they say you have to share the triple packs ?!

Some useful Creme Egg trivia, courtesy of Mr Cadbury's parrot :

If you laid all the eggs made on the Creme Egg plant end to end, they would stretch all the way from the Bournville factory in Birmingham UK to Sydney in Australia - that's 12,000 miles.

The Cadbury Creme Egg plant at Bournville can produce more than 1.5 million eggs per day. It is the best selling confectionery item between January 1st and Easter; over 200 million are sold annually, 3 for every person in the UK.

Wanna make your own humoungous Creme Eggs ? recipe here :

and more convincing one here, but with food colourings :

Have found information showing that Cadburys were telling retailers to stock Creme Eggs BEFORE xmas -

http://www.theretailbulletin.com/index.php?page=5&cat=bran&id=5425

The Creme Egg range is being extended [pack sizes up to a whopping 18 in a box (that'll make me sick eating them all in one sitting !) and those dreaded mini- sized ones I mentioned earlier] and there will be a massive ad campaign January onwards.

And I was SO hoping to go on a diet this month

Yep, I went into the Tesco on West Street on Jan 2nd, and they had displays of creme eggs, mini eggs, and some barbie things called Egglets.

It's ridiculous!

Mini Eggs are my favourites, but I wish they'd wait a bit!

It truly is a sad world in which we live.

Can't we just have some sort of official 'in-between' season where manufacturers are banned from advertising the next season's merchandise with almost three months to go?

Then again, I don't suppose it would be long before someone came up with 'Happy In-between Season's' greeting cards and other assorted guff.

Sod it, I'm going out for a creme egg.

Announcement from the government...

"We are replacing the traditional seasons with commercial periods. You new year is now in 3 parts - Easter (Jan-May), Summer (Jun-Aug), and Christmas (Sept-Dec). Thank you."

We, the public, would fall for it as well. Collectively, we are a bunch of stupid sheep.
