Obviously nobody here falls into that catagory... :D

But, if they did, what sort of stupid stuff do they come out with, and what's the cure?

The main problem with stupid people is that they appear to be extremely fertile. Two stupid people only have to glance at each other and they are expecting a clutch of stupid children.

Stupid people come out with all sorts of foolishness: 'I've had 4 pints but I'm alright to drive', 'Why would I need home insurance?' & 'Cooking chips in an open pan at 3am when I'm drunk sounds like a great idea!'. The cure? Enforced sterilisation :D

Oi! "Putting the kettle in the fridge" is a sign of being slightly nuts - NOT of being stupid.:suspect:

You can't be - it's like insanity. If you think you're insane then you're not & if you think you're stupid...you can't be.

Stupid people are too stupid to realise their stupidity :hihi:

There are some stupid people here on the forum who insist on drawing attention to other people's spelling mistakes.

Not something I would dream of doing :D

I must admit I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my own spelling and grammar so I do pick up on other people's.

I don't regard my typos as stupidity...I prefer creativity. :)

I guess I've just got a gift for it - like Bruce Willis in teh Sixth Sense - "I see dumb people." :)

My favourite recent (serious) issue of Darwinian stupidity has been the craze for 'tombstoning' - which appears to be diving in to shallow water from great heights and breaking your neck. :(

As for the cure - well, if they're stupid enough to do things like this before they breed, there's a chance that it will be all over in a generation. :)

Yep, people who do that Tombstoning lark are clearly too stupid to be let out in public IMO! :loopy:

They do it and then have the gaul to complain about their injuries! If you hadn't gone "Tombstoning" in the sodding first place you wouldn't be injured, fool! :loopy:

Stupidity is easily defined - it's demonstrated by anybody who disagrees with me :hihi:

Quote:-

There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one's safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't, but if he was sane he had to fly them. If he flew them he was crazy and didn't have to; but if he didn't want to he was sane and had to. Yossarian was moved very deeply by the absolute simplicity of this clause of Catch-22 and let out a respectful whistle.

"That's some catch, that Catch-22," he [Yossarian] observed.
"It's the best there is," Doc Daneeka agreed.

Perhaps impregnating the pages of the sun, mail and hello magazine with a binary nerve agent. Pick up one your fine, two your taking a risk and 3 your a goner! Of course there may be a slight collateral damage in the shape of millions of dead newsagents and delivery boys!!!

There seems to be a problem with that mr perfectionist, if they weren't allowed out in public, they couldn't do it...I mean come on, could you imagine these guys stood on the kitchen cupboard, tombstoning into the sink :hihi:

If we are to kill them off quickly we must arrange a field trip for them all and get it all over and done with, there's much better things going on than these idiots filling the news up everyday, like the police helicopter over sheffield :hihi::hihi:

Stupid people usually quote tabloid "headlines" - and we're including the Mail and Express here.

There isn't an obvious cure. Hanging's too good for them..........

When I was years younger and slightly intolerant as the young sometimes are, I asked the Doctor I was workinng with why stupid people were allowed to have lots and lots of children. thinking the balance of IQ would go down.

She said that very intelligent people had children slightly lower in intellegence and very stupid people had children of a slightly higher intelligence so nature tried to restore the balance.

I disagree there. I know that I'm more intelligent than the majority of the population, I'm able to think rationally, not wreck my life with continual poor choices, gain a responsible job and also excell at it and a whole load of other things that the mindless cattle are unable to do because they're so inherrently thick.

I'm afraid it's fact.

Just grit your teeth and move on! If there weren't some stupid people, I suppose it would be a fairly boring world. Stupidity is also relative.

This post may or may not be serious...I leave it for you to decide. :D

But that's just the problem. I would love to move on, but the stupid people have an impact on my life by the fact that they vote, watch TV and force their stupidity on the rest of us.

Modern society protects the truly stupid and feckless from the consequences of their own actions. There was a TV program this week in which Ann Widdiecombe met a chap on the dole who has an enormous brood of children. When asked why he felt it was fair that the rest of us should pay their way, he replied "If society doesn't like how I live it can take a running jump".

The truly stupid here are the rest of us, who actually permit this sort of behaviour and protect people from their acts. We've created a society in which dumb behaviour is effectively rewarded by not being punished.

Anyone who minds their back, saves money, prepares for rainy days, etc. and by doing so shows planning, motivation, a work ethic, intelligence enough to get and keep a job - is no better off when the crap hits the fan than someone who's as dumb as a sack of spuds, acts without thinking and relies on 'society' to pull him out of the mire his stupidity and idlesness have put him in.

Sure, some people are a bit simple, and truly unforeseen circumstances happen, but many people revel in and cultivate their stupidity, safe in the knowledge that there are others that are more stupid than they are - i.e. us - who will protect them from their acts.
