Elyndys 03-01-2005, 18:22 I thought it only happened once a year? I've been for the past three years running... It's my favourite night out in Sheffield! :) Strix 03-01-2005, 18:59 What is it? What do they play? Elyndys 03-01-2005, 19:52 Originally posted by Strix What is it? What do they play? It's a good old fashioned indie/Britpop night at Sheffield Union. It's run by the Offbeat people, but it's more mainstream (and less indier-than-thou *cough* ;)) MuteWitness 03-01-2005, 20:49 i dont know where it is, any directions? miggy 03-01-2005, 22:08 It's a small-ish indie / britpop night at the uni I think. If anyone wants to go, drop me a PM. Not sure I can drag anyone along this Friday but wouldn't mind seeing what it's like these days. Elyndys 04-01-2005, 01:33 Miggy, where did you get the info from? Didn't see anything on the Offbeat website, or the uni website... I'd love to go if it's on, but I was sure it's only on once a year, usually around November. I'd love to be proved wrong! :) (PMed you but your box is full! ;)) ChrisOffbeat 04-01-2005, 10:48 Hi all, SOAC is definitely NOT on this Friday - as someone suggested earlier in this thread, we only do it once a year, November time... However we'd be most interested to know whether this is a simply mis-reading of the listings, an error by a listings mag, or whether someone else is actually running a night under the same name! cheers Chris & Gill (Offbeat/Synthetic/SOAC) miggy 04-01-2005, 12:44 damn, thats a shame. It was in exposed magazine. So looks like Offbeat is the next non-leadmill indie night - what date is it? I've not been to Offbeat but sounds pretty good. Hard to drag people out on fridays as we have football saturday mornings, but I'm sure at least I could make it this time to see what its all about. iffypop 04-01-2005, 13:00 Originally posted by ChrisOffbeat cheers Chris & Gill (Offbeat/Synthetic/SOAC) Ey up, any stirrings of Synthetic soon? miggy 04-01-2005, 13:32 http://www.shef.ac.uk/~offbeat/synthetic/ The next Synthetic night will be on Friday 11th February, 2005 Offbeat is Friday 21st January, 2005 BTW the offbeat playlist is coming up as a load of kanji characters on Firefox but is ok on explorer. ChrisOffbeat 04-01-2005, 14:28 damn, thats a shame. It was in exposed magazine Sorry for any confusion caused, Miggy; this appears to be a mistake by the listings mag. Not for the first time with Exposed either - they seem to be completely incapable of accurately transcribing dates/times/info from my emails to their listings pages ;-((( I think I'll not bother sending them info again - it just seems to lead to confusion... grrrr |
