View Full Version : Gay Sheffield United Fan
Hello, I've recently come out as a Gay, I feel so proud. I'm also a big SUFC fan. I'd like to combine my two biggest loves, MEN and SUFC.
Would anybody want to start up a club? We could all gather in the same stand on a Saturday afternoon and chant lovely songs in support of those sexy men!
Love, hugs and kisses
Ronin

so why bother even mentioning it then?
anyways, i dont think you have much chance with this fella, its a sad world today that if this was to happen, you would be singled out by the mindless morons who do have problem with gay people!! but as others have said, good luck to you fella!!
Forget Blades . . . more like choppers! lol:P . . . or even - Pork Choppers!:hihi:
LordChaverly 03-01-2005, 20:58 You could call yourself the Gay Blades - and dress in Zorro outfits.
Seriously though, I don't know of a single footballer in any of the main leagues who has come out. The same applies to other team sports. Compare this to this situation in the performance arts.

graeme le saux?
cgksheff 03-01-2005, 21:22 Justin Fashanu .......
and it ultimately led to his suicide.
I cannot imagine what it must be like to be carrying around a secret stigma that will result in most people pouring scorn, ridicule and insults at you.
Good for you for coming out.
It must be a big relief.
You'll probably find there are other people out there who support United too.
:)

le Saux has denied that he is gay. Apparently, the rumour arose because there was an article on him which said he was very interested in the arts, collected antiques and read the Guardian! Robbie Fowler then disgraced himself by making effeminate gestures towards le Saux on the pitch in one match.

Not a big fan of gays.
Ronin are you wednesday in disguise???? you sound alot like a muppet. NO NEED.
Tommy
You might be better off at Millmoor. They seem to spend a lot of time at the bottom.
Good luck in your venture though Ronin:thumbsup:
Kristian 05-01-2005, 23:34 Yeah, Good Luck Ronin!
Don't be discouraged by the couple of disrespectful posts on here. There are some idiots around, and if you've only recently come out, you'll know this, or will find out soon enough.
Have courage, and surround yourself by a good support network!
Take care,
K x

Hey go easy! I think you can still get the Electric Chair for being gay in Connecticut. He's just doing his best to be a law abiding citizen. And rightly so, I mean what next? Black people on buses?!

Tut, shudder to think!
I must apologise but i've been off work 3 days and i have been compromised. I do not mean in a gay way but technically.
There is no password protection on the PC at work and someone has obviously decided to browse on the Forum and to use my name in vain.
I am not gay but thanks for the support of some of you anyhow. I'm sure that if at some future time i find myself thinking of a bit of shirt lifting this will be the place i will announce it on. I am however a Blade and that won't change.
Sorry about the thread but the guilty will pay and revenge will be mine.
Office Pranks, ya can't beat em :hihi:

Didn't think he sounded gay at all, was a bit overdone, sexy men, lovely songs, not typical of a serious gay man.
royjames 06-01-2005, 18:30 Anyway at least you still support the right team so all is not lost, besides I dont care if your gay or not.:heyhey:

Well, whether you're gay or not doesn't make any difference to how people should be towards you.
However, if I was you I'd have kept quiet about being a Blades fan, perhaps you can get counselling. There's limits to what society should have to put up with.
Hi Blades fan.......Well done on coming out! There IS a club for you and it's called the Gay Football Supporters Network (gfsn). It has members who support the Blades and another team that play in Sheffield! There is a Yorkshire regional group and you can join by going to www.gfsn.org

read all the posts before replying gfsn....it was a joke set up by his "friends" at work
I hope this hasn't been said already Ronin, but you sound like a bit of a gay Blade!

i said something similar to this at the start of the thread - and said that the gay blades might dress like Zorro, the original gay blade. I quite fancy dressing up in a Zorro outfit, but as i am a died in the wool fits and tanny man, I won't be joining the group at Bramall lane.
sheffexpat 10-02-2005, 15:31 I've just been reading about a Gay bloke in Sheffield who was "out" and perfectly happy and then he told everybody he was a Blades fan.
His life is now in tatters and he is suffering from depression and isolation : rumoured to be getting counselling from from Rolf Harris.
What a fantastic song to pick for Sheffield United - Annie's Song. I know the words have been altered by the fans, but it has always been one of my favourite songs and Sheffield United, my favourite team. Admitting being a Sheffield United fan deserves recognition for good sense.
Sheffield Wednesday fans think the same about their team and everyone who stands by their beliefs and strengths should feel proud.
Sheffield is a great city to live in and whether you are gay or straight, you have the right to free speech and to hold your head up high. You only live once, so enjoy!
