I know that every year you get a month or couple of months break from paying council tax if you pay by direct debit (which I do), but I can't remember which month(s) they are.
Does anyone know?
Thanks:thumbsup:
Isn't it feb and march ish time?

Not just Direct Debit.
Our bill is calculated for monthly payments from April to January inclusive. No payments for February & March.

I pay by Standing Order in 12 equal monthly payments, and they can like it or lump it :)

No, just asserting my rights as a citizen. :)

Last year we overpaid on one property by about four months. So, fairly reasonably (I thought!) I didn't pay anything in Apr/May/Jun/Jul, making a payment in Aug. After all, I was four months in credit, wasn't I?
No! I received a summons warning claiming I was three months in arrears! What the council had done was see I was in credit in Apr and so sliced 1/4 off each month, not sliced 1/4 off the year! Getting summonsed for overpaying? The mind boggles.

My last payment comes off by direct debit in three days - the seventh.
I pay in 10 payments i like the Feb and March windfall months ;)
My council tax hasn't been taken yet. Could it be because this is our 2 month's break? :)
