My dad is 67 and loves 'You Tube' - he spends hours on it!! :hihi:

i suppose its mainly down to time tho tbh

they dont have the family / work commitment that most under 65s and theyre using the internet more and more in their leisure time

Well I am a bald silver surfer (74) that spends this amount of time online a day, or so my wife says.

I spend a lot of time keeping IN TOUCH with my family to be honest. When I remember that when I was abroad, some years ago, I would write to my parents in Sheffield....it took 3/4 days for it to be delivered, then might take a couple more days for my mother to compose a reply, then another 3/4 days for it to be delivered to me....over a week really.
Now, with my son in Japan and my daughter in Luxembourg, I just send em an email saying "are you there", they then get on msn or skype, and then I can natter away to my hearts content to either of them, or even both at the same time. Plus I can see them whilst doing it.
For someone that was impressed with telex in the 70s, we've come an awful long way haven't we.:thumbsup:

Not true...OH's Dad spends 42 hours per month on the phone to OH trying to figure out how the computer turns on :hihi::hihi::hihi:

He's figured out the dvd player (insert disc - press play) but hasn't yet quite grasped the concept of speaking on the telephone rather than shouting :roll:

I don't think my parents have progressed beyond playing solitaire :help:
