ah reason! I've not used it myself but spent many hours on rebirth. I'm currently using Protools LE with the digi001 but also use Cubase now and then.

I use Cubase and trying to get my head round Ableton live as well.

Cubase is great and there are some 'lite' versions out there which are cheap. They just have the advanced stuff missing which most people never use anyway.

I use Ableton Live mainly for DJing for which it is perfect! I don't think I'd use it as a Cubase/Logic replacement though.

Novation Bassstation

*groovebox/sequencers*
Roland MC-303
Yamaha RM1x

*Drum Machines*
Yamaha DD5
Boss DR-55
Roland Tr-707
Roland R8
Roland R5

and a whole pile of distortion pedals.

Is the microkorg any good? was looking to get one but kinda talked myself out of it now because I heard the little keys can be a bit annoying.

Reaper (http://www.cockos.com/reaper/) - it's a comprehensive DAW shareware package. Free download and very cheap licence.
