chrissie 02-01-2005, 21:35 hiya...new here.....am planning to move soon to be nearer my boyfriend who lives in sheffield.........but which are the best areas for a single, lively girl (erm woman?)
is rotherham an up and coming place to look for a loft type apartment..or would i be better off in sheffield?
Where are you moving from? If it's Barnsley I'd say 'Rotherham', but anywhere else and I'd say 'Sheffield' :D
chrissie 02-01-2005, 21:48 i'm moving from manchester way...hoping the cost of living might be a little cheaper too....as its horrendous here. thought rotherham might be cheaper than sheffield
chrissie 02-01-2005, 21:50 is there something funny about rotherham then? ;-)
:hihi: only thing cheap in Rotherham are the women :suspect: joke....i'm glad you have joined the forum Chrissie ;) be nice not to travel all that way to see you :heyhey: if you know what i mean  love Jon
chrissie 02-01-2005, 21:57 Erm Jon.....i guess the secret's out then!!!!!
I was asking other members of the forum not you cos you never give me a serious answer and would have me move in with you and your mum!!!! Not that your mum isn;t a lovely person....its just i am used to having my own space..whats that saying.....two many women in a kitchen spoils the gazpacho?

One bloke I worked with said it was his brother's ambition to get so drunk he sh_t himself. I was even less impressed when he reported one monday morning that his brother had achieved his ambition.
chrissie 03-01-2005, 00:28 so I guess it has to be Sheffield then? thanks Strix :)
Bikertec 03-01-2005, 02:37 Out of the choices I got I would have to say Sheffield but if I had a choice and lots of money then that would be a different matter lmao:hihi: :hihi: Sheffield's not that bad.
And welcome to Sheffield Forum.:)

Mate that's the funniest thing I've ever read on this forum hahahahahaha! LMAO.
you will be hard pushed to find the "loft style" apartments in rotherham more money has been pumped into Sheffield as it is a lot bigger, if you live in rotherham you will spend a lot of your time coming into Sheffield etc for nights out.
Good luck looking for somewhere
chrissie 04-01-2005, 00:51 Thanks for your replies everybody......i'll keep looking in sheffield seems Rotherham isn't the place to live then. Anyone want to list why not? or maybe some support for theplace? :)

Don't forget Ivy Tilsley, Paul Shane, Jeremy Clarkson, & Duggy Brown! :gag:
All Rotherhamites!
I have to say there are some very nice new appartments being completed in my neck of the woods at The Stag (out of town) along the East Bawtry Road end..
This remains a very nice area & the house prices reflect that.
It has ofstead recommended schools & the local GP practice is excellent.
There are some good Family restaurants in this area & it's between the M18 & M1 for convenience.
 I'm a snob & I wouldn't live here if it was crap
Don_Kiddick 12-01-2005, 21:05 This may help?

if you want to live close in to a city centre then i'd say Sheffield.
If you're looking at being a bit further out then Sheffield or Rotherham makes little difference, they both have nice and nasty suburbs.
