Earlier this week it was discovered that thieves had broken into the school lock-up used to store unicycles for the local community unicycling project.
Three unicycles were taken, which obviously is hugely detrimental to the project, so we’d like them back.
Here are links to pictures of the models taken-

They are all ‘Nimbus’ brand unicycles, two have 20” wheels (same size as BMX bikes) and one has a 24” wheel (due to the size of the tyre it’s almost as big as a mountain bike wheel).
All three have fat, off-road style tyres.
Visible on the photos are the small, but distinctive, black plastic handles on the front of the seats.
They also have the ‘unicycle.com’ logo down the side of the frame (may have been removed by the thieves, which would probably leave considerable scuffing).
If you’re offered such unicycle for sale under dubious circumstances, or if such unicycles appear in your area, you can contact me (Dave) on (0114) 2676410- please leave a message if I’m not in and, if leaving a contact number, please speak clearly and repeat the number.
(or you can send me a pm here).
The unicycles belonged to N.U.Y.P.P (Netherthorpe and Upperthorpe Young Peoples Platform) and provided an alternative activity for local youngsters- they are a real loss to the area.
If the people who took them are reading this, it may be that it was a fairly impulsive thing to do and that you’re now finding one-wheeled bikes to be a bit pointless, if so, please do give me a call and I’ll be happy to pick them up on a ‘amnesty/no questions asked/no police basis’- the main thing is for us to get the unicycles back so the project can continue to benefit local youngsters, we’re not interested in getting anyone in trouble.
