I posted on Tuesday to say that my baby piggie, Gus had died after a very sudden and short illness. :(
We were worried about his cage mate Gordon getting lonely as he is only about 18 weeks old and has never lived on his own, so we decided to get another piggie straight away.
We bought an 8 week old smooth haired boar, he's a lovely chocolate brown colour with a ginger patch on his back, so we called him Crunchie, cos he looks like one! :D
We did the initial introductions last night (he had already been quarantined) we'd read up on the net and made sure the ground was neutral (although Gordon has free run of most of downstairs anyway!) and there was a lot of bum sniffing and rumbling going on and Gordon did try and mount Crunchie so he kept running off, but when he eventually stopped, it turned out that Gordon just wanted to groom his ears and and under his chin, which was really sweet! :D
Anyway, we decided to put Crunchie back in his cage, but Gordon kept circling the cage, wheeking like mad and Crunchie seemed pretty calm about the whole thing, so eventually we allowed Gordon to get in the cage and they spent all night cuddled up together in the Pigloo, and they were still in there this morning, we didn't hear a peep out of them all night!
Hopefully they'll continue to best mates!! :)
