Hello
As animal lovers you are all probably aware of the unwanted dog situation. However, I just wanted to remind/alert those people thinking of getting a dog to consider adopting a rescue. Sheffield Council Kennels have many dogs desperate for a new home. Contrary to popular belief, many rescue dogs do not have behavioural problems and the history of a dog is often known. Prior to adoption, the dogs are assessed for such things as cat/dog/child friendly, house trained etc. The kennels are located on Spring Street and the dogs can be viewed Monday to Friday 10:00 to 15:00. There is a nominal charge of £65.00 which includes micro-chipping and a voucher for spaying/neutering costs. The staff are really friendly and helpful and advise you on the type of dog most suitable for your lifestyle. They can be contacted on 0114 272 6758 or mobile 07920 727180.
Please pass on this message to anyone you know who may be thinking of getting a new addition to the family and good luck to anyone who offers a home to a rescue dog; they really do make the most wonderful pets.
