Thinking of selling my PC and getting a laptop but no idea what this lot would be worth - anyone able to help me out?
Asus K-series motherboard - Socket 939 with 1Mhz FSB and 7.1 surround sound built in
Athlon 64 3700 San Diego core
1GB DDR 400 ram (CL3)
BFG Tech GeForce 7900 GToc 256MB nVidia graphics
250GB SATA HD
8x24x48 DVD re-writer
White tower case with one transparent side, 2 fans with adjustable speeds and green neon (!)
Wireless keyboard and mouse
Windows XP Professional included
17" Acer TFT monitor
... equally if anyone's interested, PM me with an offer!!! ;)
Not a lot unfortunately. Second-hand PC market isn't that great because you can pick up brand new ones for practically nothing.
You may as well keep it.
is that an OEM Windows XP pro license ?

That spec is actually very good. You should ask for £200 ono and expect to be offered (and accept) £125-£150.

thats worth a dam site more than £150!, i just sold a lower spec tower only for £150
the graphics card on it's own is £60-70 minimum on ebay
you would probably be be better off selling the base unit and monitor separately aswell

Yeah that was one option - to strip it all out and sell seperately.
Thanks for the advice though guys!

be prepared for some daft replies agent dan!
i asked a similar question about a shuttle system a few weeks back...
someone tried telling me i'd be lucky to get £50 for it... the case alone is worth around £40
someone-else said it would be ideal for a media center pc, but the processor (Athlon XP2500) wasn't powerful enough to run one tuner let-alone two... funnily enough it's been running two under both windows and linux for about a year :-)
people on here like to have their say, even if they haven't a clue what they're talking about!
Some people seem to think if you are selling a PC you expect about 3 grand for it and then they like feeling smug by telling you it's worth 7p. So you often don't end up with a realistic value.
That spec with a monitor and legit XP Pro is probably worth about £250-£300

I was thinking around £350 ideally, so that's a lot closer, cheers!
honestly... you can buy a similar / better spec for £350/£399 (see link: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/123447 ) sure the gfx card isnt quite as high as yours... but its dual core, and a bigger monitor... so if you adjust thoes to a lower monitor and single core etc... you could invest slightly more in a better gfx card...
honestly... i'f it was me, i'd ask around £250, and if i was offered £180-£230 i'd take it..
