My wife has loads of soft toys that are in excellent condition which she wants to give away due to the lack of space and I suggested that the Childrens Hospital may take them to put a smile on a small persons face when in hospital.
Does anyone know if that is the case and if they accept these kinds of donations and also a phone number I can call to arrange me dropping of the toys if they would like them.
i dont think that they will take them, they said something to do with infections ect but call them on 01142717000 they will tell you if they want them or not.my son is under the sch has been since he was a day old its a very happy place for the ill,and all the staff are fantastic, with the kids and the adults.....if not there is the kids that lost toys in the floods that you could donate them to.....good luck

Thought there could be an issue with infections, I will give them a call and see what they say, Thanks

Why not sell them at a car boot sale and send the money to one of the hospital charities instead?
Or you could give them away on Freecycle http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Sheffield-FreeCycle/
I'm sure there would be plenty of happy recipients!
There is a receptacle for cuddly toys at Crystal Peaks near the indoor market (or there was last time I looked in that direction). Not sure which charity it is for though.
hi,just phoned and they said that they will take them if they are new and still in the right box that they came in. items must not have been played with or anything like that. if they are new you can drop them of at reception main or a n e ...........

Thanks, they are not in the original boxes so I will probably have to take them to the charity shop instead.
Don t know if you re interested but last season at Sheffield Steelers , we did a "teddy bear toss" for Amy s house which I believe is a respite facility for children with learning difficulties in Handsworth. They needed soft toys . Perhaps if you got in touch with them ? Sorry I dont have any contacts as it was quite a while ago.
