Any of you guitarists out there can tell me the best fingering for an F#diminished chord.

I'm going from an F to F#dim to Gm..

Shouldn't there also be an E flat on the 4th string there? Otherwise the chord you've described is just a D7, minus the root note (although I realise that F#dim and D7 are virtually the same).

You are right, but I think that wether I include the major 6th part of a diminished chord with my crap guitar style, isn't that important. And the simple three string trick is much easier for me to remember. If I was accompanying on other instruments I could throw in the sixth if it sounded important.
