The Dam House at Crookes will suit you as its been around in various forms for years.

Its got the parking and the english dishes you want.

I must admit i love the place so if it's not your cup of tea (although it will be!) here are a few more faves of mine, all with a differing feel!!

1. Manor House and Rooms, Dronfield, like the Dam House.

2. Fellicini , but don't have pizza its a bit dry.

3. 4 Seasons Restaurant at Napoleons casino .. honest, it's a little hidden gem, and you can have a little flutter after.

4. For a laugh and a retro feel ... Damons. Right back to the 80's! It's great!

5. Las Iguanas ... Just been bought out so standards will be high and the fajitas are great!

Morans - near the Abbeydale Garden Centre (Bottom of Dore Road) - just re-opened after being flooded and fully refurbished, great chef and good food.

Marco @ Milano - Archer Road Millhouses - Park across the road in the garage - 20ft to front door. Lovely food, very stylish place.

i go in the early hours and get served straight away, obviously the food takes time to cook as they make it fresh, but its worth the wait tho... wot do u get from there?

I second this choice!!

You can park right outside the doors and have those lovely sweet trolleys and delicious food!!!

You won't be disappointed!!

I would reccomend the Walnut Club in Hathersage. I took my Mum there last week for lunch. She was very impressed.

Here's one to stay clear of..... Santino's on Eccy Road

Chef certainly knows how to use a salamander and they think that bechemel with peppercorns in it constitutes a peppercorn sauce!!

I like the Old Vicarage at Ridgeway! The food is great, and the private reserve wine list holds some of the most fabulous bottles I have ever seen! :hihi:

What does the chef do with the salamander? Are these not protected?

I love the Thyme Cafe at Broomhill but they don't take bookings, you have to just show up and take your chances. Adds the element of risk and excitement to a night out though! The food is always fabulous I think.
