View Full Version : Any fashion handbag - warehouse suppliers in Sheffield? masonblades 19-08-2007, 17:30 does sheffield have one. if not where is the nearest. spent all day on the net. looking through yellow pages. & cant find any.thanks for any help. Ant 19-08-2007, 18:43 I used to pick up my handbag & leathergoods stock from Bagworld (http://www.manchesterhasit.co.uk/business/1922/) in Manchester. I found them to be very reasonable, but there wasn't enough demand to keep my market stall running. masonblades 19-08-2007, 19:15 thanks for that. is it a large wharehouse? . it dosent seem to have a web site. so anything you can tell me about it .i would appreciate. Ant 19-08-2007, 20:28 I last went four years ago. Back then, it wasn't huge - about the size of a small Cash & Carry, with about 3 or 4 aisles. The stock consisted of belts, wallets, purses, handbags, sports bags (tended not to be fantastic quality for the cheaper ones), and rucksacks. I'm pretty sure that was the warehouse that had an upstairs section selling jewellery, hair accessories, watches etc. That was always worth a visit (many a Christmas present was picked up from there!) The bulk of the bags were £2, some even £1, for some surprisingly nice looking stuff. You could pay a little more for the posh gear. I seem to remember us not needing anything to get in - I may have made my own letterhead, but that was it. Depending on who served us, we also avoided paying VAT occasionally. I also seem to remember another bag warehouse on the same road (it was a normal-ish shopping road, but there was a high concentration of warehouse stores as well). It may be worth your while having a wander up and down the road if you decide to go, to see what else it has to offer. We found the warehouse by looking in a specialist newspaper available from the Market Traders' Office at Barnsley Markets - just wander in and look round the door - there used to be a pile on the floor. I think it was called "World's Fair" - Trader magazine is also a good buy (WH Smiths). masonblades 22-08-2007, 00:30 thanks. i have now ordered the mag.so fingers crossed. once again thank you |
