From a previous rather 'sensational' poll you might be aware that I don't have much time for Tony Bliar. I think Gordon Brown's a much nicer bloke (and is a REAL socialist at heart), and should be given the position that was supposedly 'promised' him by Mr Bliar over lunch before the party came to power.

I answered "NO" to this poll but the truth is I'd rather not have either of them. I would, however, like to see the blue team back in power!

I'd like to see the labour party go back to more socialist principles.

I would be happy if the tory party never got in power again, whilst I admit not everything Mr Blair has done for the country has been beneficial, he has overalll improved it I think.

The destruction that occured under the Tories has set this country back 20 years.

As for the Liberals, the must have so many fence posts up their a%$e that need sand paper to go to the toilet.

It's a pity that blunkers is out of the picture for a while, but he's only himself to blame. Blair and Brown are both scottish, and I get the impression that the scots have done well out of the New Labour Government.

A proper north of England MP might make a bit of difference to us up here in the wilds of sheffield. Our local problems are mainly local transport and a bizzare planning department in the local council who have historically built projects in a cheapskate fashion. And with parliament based in London, you wonder how much money/time we miss out on, especially if we are not adequately represented.
I would like to see the tram extended, the roads improved and the central railway rebuilt over woodhead.

In the near future, the national government has got to raise taxes in the long run though to prop up Pensions and make having kids less of a burden.

Wonder if there'll be an X-Factor style show for choosing politicians....?

I'd personally prefer Charles Kennedy meself, but I was just thinking what would be best for the time being...

I would like to see Gordon Brown take over.

I was originally one of Tony Blair's biggest supporters, but after two terms in office he seems to have lost the ability to stand up for what he believes. One example is the fox-hunting issue. Even after the last election, he referred to it as a cruel sport which should be banned. So does he vote to ban it? No, he votes for a "compromise" which is worse than changing the law at all. Suddenly he has decided it is a respectable sport so long as the people who participate get a license to take part.

Having said that, if we are faced with the choice of Blair, Howard, or Kennedy at the next election I still think Blair would be by far the lesser of the 3 evils! So I might still vote Labour, but I am undecided as yet. There's no way I would vote for the tories or the liberals though!

I would say that Brown could be the best chance of Labour winning the election after the next one. Its pretty much a foregone conclusion that Blair will retain power (later this year?).

I quite like Blair tbh, dont agree with some of his policies but he seems to have gained the respect of foreign leaders.

Nice to see someone has a sense of humour. Mind you, Griffin would be a good choice if we want the country run by a group of violent racist thugs.

P.S. For those who don't know who Nick Griffin is, he is the leader of the BNP and was previously involved in the National Front and has been convicted of at least one criminal offence.

I prefer Brown to Blair (his closeness to the U.S. neo-cons means I can't support him anymore). However in my ideal world I'd like to see Kennedy in power. Tory and New Labour are essentially the same centre-right party. The Liberals are the only real opposition.
