Single - "Spitting Games" by Snow Patrol. Never get sick of hearing it and it always makes me want to jump around! I would probably go for their album as the best of 2004 too.

Album - Green Day's American Idiot

Single - Green Day's American Idiot - if only for the reason that when the video is played on either Kerrang or Scuzz my kids (ages 3 & 5) play air guitar and pretend to be Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt!! Seriously tho, could listen to it every day and not tire of it.

Not very original, I'm afraid, but my votes go to

Album: Franz Ferdinand

Single: Green Day "American Idiot"

I probably shouldn't admit this, but best 'pop' single was defo Natasha Bedingfield "These Words" - loved the words, and the song itself is so joyful and uplifting

single - lemar - if theres any justice

album - the zutons - who killed the zutons

green day album was good as well, perhaps even better than dookie. and yes that natasha beddingfield song gets in your head and never bloody leaves!! i said to some friends i hated it..but i think i like it now. haha. just nags me and the video is good and she seems so damn happy that its infectious!

good songs stand out more nowadays seens though there is alwayws a pile of boyband and 80's remixes songs that are being regurgitated all the time.

You two should check out Seafood.

Snow Patrol supported them a couple of years back before they were famous, and just recently Seafood Supported Snow Patrol

Seafood are Britains most underrated band for sure.

He's a long way off, from producing an album of the year but it does remind me of Dirk Wears White Sox by Adam Ant.
Which as got to be good!
