I'm sure a couple of years ago there used to be a free bus that you could hop on in town to get to Tesco Abbeydale and back again, has this stopped running, or was I just making it up? :P

I've got a timetable here somewhere, if I can find it buried under all the other mess in the room, I'll post times. They do not run every day of the week, though. ps. If by "in town" you mean the actual city centre, that service now terminates at the University. There is no free bus from the city centre to the store. Jess22 16-08-2007, 22:21 there is still but can't remember the number. The 97 stops right outide though. scatterheart 16-08-2007, 22:33 I live in Hillsborough. I was hoping to be a cheapskate and get a free bus there and back :P Am I right in thinking this Tesco is bigger than the Infirmary Road one? haddockman 16-08-2007, 22:38 I live in Hillsborough. I was hoping to be a cheapskate and get a free bus there and back :P Am I right in thinking this Tesco is bigger than the Infirmary Road one? Yeah it's a bit bigger and there's the big Sainsbury's near there too so can have a look there too :) I've seen this bus but dont know anything about it! Like someone else said, 97 and 98 stop right by it and they go from outside Castle Market, outside Halifax bank near TJ Hughes and also the bottom of the moor! Ruff 17-08-2007, 07:03 The 85 actually stops inside the park and ride car park too. Andy C 17-08-2007, 11:53 The regular Tesco bus is the number 505 park and ride which runs to Broomhill and the Hallamshire Hospital. A fare is payable for this bus. There is then also, in the middle of the day, a free shoppers bus which runs to the store from local suburbs, it runs from a different area each day. |
