has tony blair come home, should he come home from his holiday, I THINK SO. its ok to say we will give X amount of pounds, so long as he can stay in egypt. when 9/11 happend, and god that was bad enough, 4,000 people approx died, and the whole world was up in arms, this week 70.000 people have lost there lives, over 2 continents, and where are these world leaders, they are all waiting to see what help everyone will give. they cant start a WAR about this one.

Not sure a comparison of Bush/Blair's reaction between 9/11 and the Asian earthquake is appropriate.
The scale and Modus Operandi of the terrorist attack had (probably) most people wondering where would be hit next, and for many weeks, post 9/11, there was a fair amount of paranoia/fear.
9/11 represented a direct challenge to the security of the civilians in many countries, and as such the leaders' initial response/involvement was always going to be intense.
I am in no way diminishing the impact/severity of the Asian earthquake, but it is a (hugely tragic) natural disaster.
As such, I personally wouldn't expect them to return home from their breaks following an event that didn't directly involve their countries (leaving aside the British/US victims). They can keep abreast of developments from overseas and issue statements via the media as appropriate.
However I do feel their public statements were a little slow in coming forward.
Let's hope they do their utmost to support the relief operation.
