He needed to ahve a good game after saturdays debarcle!

He played well tonight,i work with 2 derby fans and they speak highly of him.

He certainly has a big presence between the sticks, he's a big lad.

I thought he did well after the nightmare he had at Ipswich last saturday

You would have thought it was a different keeper though , with the mistakes he made Saturday, and the saves he made last night.

Both Grant and Burch clearly have potential, but neither are the "finished article".
If they were, they wouldn't have come to us on free transfers.

Both are inexperienced, and probably are going to make mistakes. Some top premier league international goalkeepers make mistakes!

Hopefully Grant and Burch are going to go on improving, and become reliable.

But it is not going to help their confidence, if and when they do drop a clanger the fans start booing them, and clamouring for them to be dropped - as they did with Bob Bolder years ago, and odd people have on and since Saturday.

At least give them a chance.

I've only seen Burch once, so difficult to judge him, but in the games I've seen I've felt more comfortable with Grant and that he has justified his place, APART from his two clangers on Saturday.

Bit too slow off his line (on occasions) for my liking ; and the Go Ahead equaliser did go through his legs (unlucky, but it was not the fiercest of prods)

But, it was his first game - and first of season for most of them, so he's bound to have been still "cold", and I'm not going to crucify the guy on here.

I hope they both turn out OK, and do the job capably between them, and Burch grabs his chance to impress as it will undoubtedly arrive some time.

It's the gap between where numbers 3 and 5 are supposed to cover, that worries me most at the moment; not which of these two lads to stick between the posts.
