View Full Version : What do you have on your toast
ladyovmanor 29-12-2004, 19:43 i love lime marmalade on my toast
my son is peanut butter crazy
my daughter loves best butter
and my bloke it has to be cheese
With me it's cheese, has to be.
If there's no cheese in the house then it's butter.
If there's neither then I'll go up to the shop and get some cheese :P
Phanerothyme 29-12-2004, 19:45 anchovies, mashed up with lemon butter for a treat - otherwise cheese, cheese and more cheese.
Vegemite (when drunk)
Cheese (when sober)
Worcester Sauce and Cheese (when bored)
Or dry toast (when ill)
:suspect:
jonsastar 29-12-2004, 19:52 Cheese
Cheese and pickled onions
Cheese and Hendersons relish (nice)
I think I will go and make some toast, thanks
I've gotta go for Cheese and Marmite
Peanut butter and HP sauce, Philadelphia with garlic and herbs or cranberry sauce. Not all at once ;-)

LOL:cool: what about crunchy peanut butter, leaving it abit so it melts just a tad.
Has anyone ever attemted to make their own toast pizza? I've done it a few times and am getting rather good at it now! Tomato puree, cheese and onion or whatever I can find in the house! normally after a night out, come home merry and turn into Jamie Oliver desperate for any food!:D
designbunny 29-12-2004, 21:41 def. strawberry jam
FairyNormal 29-12-2004, 22:56 Plain toast has to be butter, not yukky marge.
But I also like :
Lime marmalade
Marmite and cheese
Cheswood Creamed Mushrooms (sprinkled with salt)
Cheese and beans.
Erm, lumpy peanut butter or cheese, or cheese and jam if it's a special occasion.
I'm hungry now, going to go and get some toast!
baked beans and HP sauce!!! though i have beans AND toast.... do the toast with loads of butter then do some beans mixed with brown sauce in a bowl then dip in me toast!!!!! yummy!!!!
end up leaving the beans most of the time mind, just want the sauce:rolleyes: :D
karenjane39 30-12-2004, 06:53 Marmite for sure, with butter not marg !
Usually tomato sauce..but eaten upside down as i have a gap in my teeth at the front( like Madonna )...and then its easier to eat!
Mashed-up pilchards in tomato sauce, it sounds horrible but it tastes realy good.
JonJParr 30-12-2004, 08:43 It's gotta be Heinz Baked Beans, Grated Mozarella and crispy smoked back bacon!! Yeah baby!!

Alex
Rubysoho 04-01-2005, 15:08 either Crunchy Peanut Butter or Swiss Yeast Pate - yum!!
Seedless raspberry jam or manuka honey.
Can't see anything yuck about cheese & jam together :P
steevie/d 04-01-2005, 18:20 poached egg butter & marmite mmmmmmmmm
Tesco/Safeway mixed fruit jam. You know, the seedless, cheap extra value stuff. It's great for spreading on toast. :D
Also known to be on my toast is:
Beans and/or bacon and/or sausage
Cheese and ham (ketchup too)
Brussells Pate
Nutella
and very occasionally....
Peanut butter
Toast is so versatile. :D
Marmite, Marmalade or butter....not all at the same time.
Cheese on toast is good - as are sardines!
:)
Kittenkel 04-01-2005, 21:25 Depending on whether I'm in a sweet or savoury mood, I like slices of ham or a generous spread of nutella.
Gotta be warm tho - can't be doing with cold toast!
sorry but its just gotta be beans!
4 slices of toast, full tin of Heinz baked beans... mmmmmmm... I'm such a greedy pig :D
if it has to be spreadable stuff though, then it has to be my grans homemade strawberry jam, and lots of it... OMG that stuff is to die for!!
On my toast i have been known to have the following:
Butter
Cheese
Banana
Syrup
Strawberry Jam
Seedless Blackcurrent Jam
Chocolate spread... mmm melts quite nicely
Not all at the same time may i add...
Hmmm all this talk of toast... making my taste buds water...
One thing i never fancied tho was my Mum on toast  when i was younger an asked her what we were having for tea her reply would be 'Me on toast'... :D why is it parents come out with such daft sayings... :?

ladyovmanor 21-01-2005, 09:05 sorry but i am from down south and never herd anything like that
Whenever her boyfriend asks what he is getting for his dinner, my sister always - without fail - replies with 's**t with sugar on top' It drives him mad, but he won't learn...

My mum used to say 'Sh*t with sugar on'...that sounds so bad to what your mum said.
and marmite is the best on toast!
Kristian 21-01-2005, 09:25 I can thoroughly recommend Tabasco sauce on dry toast - delicious and low fat (depending on the bread!)
