Yep I quite agree !!
Have you considered hiring out a hall at ponds forge or hillsborough liesure centre !?
Davemantis 21-01-2005, 15:09 Hi Jamie
I have thought about ponds forge but they want too much for the room hire.
I was thinking of asking the karate place on London road but they have moved out of there.
I would only be able to hire a place like that if I was getting the people in to pay the rent.
Any other suggestions.

Hi Dave,
There's the Pearson Bulding (connected to Sheffield Hallam Uni), they have a gym and a movement studio (15/20 quid per hour I think).
You could also try the council, ask for a list of halls / community centres for hire. You may also want to check the central lending library, they may have more idea of what's available.
I'm sure there are loads of martial arts people on the forum that will have a much better idea than me of what's available. Could try starting a thread specifically looking for a venue.
Good luck!
Jamie
shaolinnick 23-01-2005, 10:06 Those seminars sound ace Dave, especially Hook Swords, just wondering if you know of any later on in the year from maybe September onwards??
Davemantis 23-01-2005, 10:40 I will be holding Seminars all year & once I find a place in Sheffield I will be holding classes there.

evildrneil 23-01-2005, 12:04 The two universities have good sports centers and may hire rooms? Other than that most martial arts places seem to be in community center halls - St Mary's Church (on the roundabout at the end of Bramall Lane) may be a good choice? Or I believe the fitness club on Surrey Street (who's name I can't remember - anyone know it?) has got some big fitness studeos they hire out at reasonable rates...
