Lots of publicity about the Pirate Radio stations in the mid sixties
this week. 40 years since they were declared illegal.

The best reception in this area was from Radio 270 moored off
the east coast. I was in my mid teens at the time and to be able
to listen to pop music ALL DAY was incredible. The amount
of pop music played on BBC Radio at the time was minimal.

I had a little tranny and it went all over with me.

One of the Radio 270 DJs Paul Burnett still does a stint on
Classic Gold .

Any one else recall 270 ?

I certainly would not have liked to spend any time on the boat
other than in a calm sea.
I think it was called Ocean 7.
