I had Firefox1.5, it was all working ok until today when i couldn't launch the browser in any way at all!

In 'add/remove programmes' it says 18.08mb for what i had - version 1.5
I went to mozilla homepage & it said that version 2.0 is 5.64mb

Does this add on to what i already have?. I downloaded it & in the add/remove it increased to 22.78mb, i though it erased or coppied over what i had!, but it seems to have added on!

How can i remove the old version that may be hanging around on my pc!, i went to add/remove & couldn't do it from there!

In this latest version, i can't seem to create an email via 'tools' that i used to in the 1.5 version! In that version, via tools, it said create mail & check mail!
How do i create an email from my mail programme( OE6), via my browser!, or maybe the latest version of firefox only works with Thunderbird!! I dunno.

Never tried them but what about an uninstaller program

There are a few freeware ones at this link (http://www.dirfile.com/freeware/uninstall.htm) but i would wait till somebody confirms they have used them before :)

The 5.64mb quoted on the Mozilla site is the size of the installer download. Once installed the uncompressed program will be significantly larger.

Would it have removed the 1.5 version & replaced it with 2.0?

In 2.0, how can i create an email. I used to go to 'tools' & there was a link to create new mail or read mail. In version 2.0, there isn't this option.

Firefox normally over-writes itself when you install an upgraded version. To be sure, you can check in the Add/Remove Software menu and see whether there are separate entries for Firefox 1.5 and Firefox 2.0. If there are, you can safely remove 1.5 unless you want to keep both for some reason.

I don't remember noticing the email tool in firefox 1.5, but you could download Mozilla Thunderbird, the email client (much like Outlook Express) made by the same people as Firefox, free here http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/thunderbird/.

Thats been the issue!, i can't remove version 1.5 via 'add/remove programmes'.
All freezes & it won't budge!

There aren't 2 entries, so i guess its overwritten it!

In Firefox 1.5.012. I could go to 'tools' at the top & i could click on 'new mail' & it would open a new mail, without going to my OE.

How can i send mail without going to the mail programme? Is there a way via my browser as there is in IE (the envelope icon) ??
